Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, I am pleased to give you your kind euphemism for the day: http://www.nytimes.com/2011/04/03/world/asia/03japan.html?_r=1&hp

"Highly radioactive water is leaking directly into the sea from a damaged pit near a crippled reactor at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant, safety officials said Saturday, the latest setback in the increasingly messy bid to regain control of the reactors."

Increasingly messy!

That's what this is!!!

(facepalm)

:banghead:

No, I'm not a hysteric.

7. This is Derp

Urban Dictionary:

* A simple, undefined reply when an ignorant comment or action is made. Brought to life in the South Park series, when Mr. Derp made a guest apperance at South Park Elementary as the chef for a day, followed by hitting himself in the head with a hammer and exclaiming "Derp!"

* one that expells an action of a complete and total fail

13. "Increasingly messy" is Legos all over your living room
And I can just vacuum up those babies.

Radioactive water pouring from a crack? I'd go with "dire global catastrophe" or "horrific crisis."

18. Another article regarding the stricken Fukushima reactors
Edited on Sat Apr-02-11 11:46 AM by Urban Prairie
"the best information the United States had received from the Japanese authorities indicated that water was once again covering the cores of the stricken reactors and that pools of spent fuel atop the reactor buildings were “now under control.”

http://www.nytimes.com/2011/04/02/world/asia/02japan.html?src=un&feedurl=http%3A%2F%2Fjson8.nytimes.com%2Fpages%2Fworld%2Fasia%2Findex.jsonp

After viewing the damage sustained to the #2 and especially #3 reactors from HD images taken above them by satellite, I believe there is no way in HELL that those two reactors' spent fuel pools that WERE attached to the sides of the upper half of the reactor buildings are still intact. They HAVE to be in broken pieces on the floor of the reactor buildings, along with the tons of spent fuel that likely are no longer encased in their zirconium sheaths, and are now just tons of hot pellets spilled all over the reactors floors in huge mounds.

20. If we are lucky, they are still "pellets" instead of totally molten matter.
