1. VOTE IN 2012! OK? PLEASE!
Edited on Sat Apr-02-11 03:51 PM by MineralMan
If you do not, this will be unstoppable. If you do, we will win and stop it. It's up to each and every Democrat to turn out and vote for Democratic legislators at the federal and state levels. This may well be your last chance.

Thanks for listening.

If you don't vote, then please stand out of the way. We'll appreciate that a lot.

5. You only voted for one candidate? Really?
I voted for a congress member, a Senator, two state legislators and more. If you only voted for one candidate, then you missed a lot of your ballot.

11. Mineral Man is right.
If everybody goes out and supports anybody with a "D" after their name,
the cuts to Social Security, Medicare, and Social Programs probably won't be quit so bad.

13. YES! Please, everybody, we need to be on the same page about this.
People complain about how the Dems did this or didn't do that. Okay, fine, you have issues. But there is a world of difference between a disappointing friend and a deadly enemy. The Democrats, at their worst, are moderately incompetent or weak kneed. The Republicans, on the other hand, are a threat to all life on Earth. Period.

There is a clear and present choice to be made.

Who hypocritically proclaim their pious "pro-life" stance.

Since most Rethugs and rightwingers believe in a Creator and facing God's judgement, after their deaths, then obviously they must not or don't care about spending eternity in Hades?

A potentially very effective and non-discriminating means of gradually and ultimately killing off most, if not all of those US citizens who never could, no longer can, or eventually will become unable to support themselves, and obviously most would or will need more and more expensive medical care, due to advancing age or debilitating illnesses and/or physical disability, since most of the already overwhelmed charities in the US could not possibly deal with the potential of tens of millions more who would desperately resort to them, seeking assistance with very expensive medical treatment and Rxes...

"Details of how Ryan's Medicare voucher program would work are still unclear, but the Ryan-Rivlin plan said the amount of the voucher -- a lump sum payment from the government -- would be calculated in part by taking the average federal cost per Medicare enrollee"

"Vouchers"..what a fucking joke, just like McCain's health insurance plan presented during his campaign, based upon the idea that the insurers' "grass is greener" in another state. As if a health insurance HMO/PPO in South Dakota would cover a family living in New Jersey...?

:eyes:  :silly: :wtf:  :grr:

12. My mom and Medicare
With the ACA (health insurance law) changes, I was able to help my elderly, disabled mother to save over a thousand dollars ALREADY this year. She is/was? a conservative who has fought me on every point since Obama was elected.

Last week she called me to tell me about the money saved and the fact that she has received letters asking her to come in for preventative, free tests, that she has qualified for breathing therapy (she has emphysema and COPD) - again Free, her monthly payments are now zero, and she has yet to pay for any medication.

She is amazed and thankful. Our new health care law is far from perfect, but if we could just become educated on how it can help people like my mom, perhaps we could get more people on board to make it better. It took her trust in me to get her past her fear, but she cannot deny the fact that she now has over $400 a month to put toward her food and shelter.

The GOP wants to not only take this away, but make it harder than it was a year ago! They must be stopped. And that is why I'm stepping up and becoming an organizer for 2012. It begins and ends with us. Each vote matters.

Shine on,
Annette

14. Roses are red, Violets are blue
you're old and poor, fuck you!

That's the opening line of a poem I wrote for my dad and sent it to him from Ronnie Raygun circa 1980. He was feeling down and it made him laugh. I cannot remember the rest of it, it was quite long.

On a related note. I saw a bumper sticker today on a truck at Fleet Farm. It said, "remember real hope and change" with a pic of St. Ronnie wearing a cowboy hat. For anyone with an elderly parent, Reagan was and evil, callous fuck.
