But here's something else: Prosser consistently has been in the middle of the court. He is a reliable judicial conservative, but he's also independent. We think Kloppenburg is smart, energetic and may even be as independent as she claims. She is a strong candidate. But Prosser has a 12-year record of evenhanded decisions and willingness to join ideological opposites.
