My Experience with a Teabagger (the stalking begins)
Some of you might remember the post I made yesterday about the teabagger at my office: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=439x800162

So, this morning, I get this query from JMcH from Youtube: "Are you the same "Th1onein" from DU?"

I write him back and tell him that I am, indeed, the same person. I get this back: "What was the blog URL?"

I guess he wants the URL of the blog the teabagger was complaining about being shut down by the FBI. I'm not going to give it to him, of course, because that gives this poor old lady's identity out to the entirety of the internet. It's called protecting someone's privacy. Plus, it's also a matter of protecting this poor old lady in the first place. She's obviously got enough problems, or she wouldn't make something like this up, to begin with, right? So, I tell him this in so many words.

I get this, in response: "So in other words, the website never actually existed and neither did this "poor old lady.""

And this is from a guy who calls himself a Christian. Yeah, right. I'm supposed to divulge enough information to this guy so that he can identify this crazy old lady and do God knows what with the information, and because I won't, then I must be a liar and must have made the whole thing up. Real Christian attitude.

2. I had a friend who wrote an OP-ED and then had a teaparty nut calling his
home, calling him unAmerican, saying he hated America.

You might ask your tea party friend if you can give his name and address out to all of DU.

3. People who call themselves Christian are generally the opposite
I have gotten in one minor car accident in my life, it was with a women who screamed at the top of her lungs at me, told me that her husband was a cop, like that mattered, and referred to herself as a "Christian".

5. I don't want to put down all Christians.
I've met some who actually practice what they preach. But, when someone leads with the "I'm a Christian" crap, they are usually anything but.

8. It's exactly like having money or intelligence
The people who actually possess these qualities don't have to tell anyone about it. It's usually apparent.

10. I don't. But I thought it would be nice to front him out on DU for his non-Christian behavior.
He apparently reads the posts here. He's apparently one of those keyboard warriors from one of the rightwing sites who thinks he can stalk DUers, with no consequences. NOT going to happen.

Here's his latest email to me, and my response, below it:

From JMcH: No, I never expected you to disclose any information at all -- not even a simple thing such as the blog URL -- to verify your story.

My reply:

So you never expected me to disclose any information? Then why did you ASK for it? And it's not "a simple thing" to give out the blog URL. You can find out her name from that. You really think I'm going to call this woman out for the idiot that she is and then give her identifying information to a complete stranger (who apparently seems to be stalking people from Democratic Underground) on the internet?

I don't know about your friends, Mr. Internet Christian, but decent people don't do that kind of thing to others. They have integrity and compassion. Even if they do find that someone is acting like an idiot, they don't expose them personally for the entire world to ridicule. Especially when that person is a former employee.

I don't NEED to verify anything for you. I don't know you. I could care less what you think about me, or whether you believe me or not. You're very obviously an idiot, with no decency, parading around in your psuedo-Christian keyboard warrier costume.

Funny how that seems to work for some people.

13. He's nasty and mean right out of the box, isn't he?
Just an automatic jerk. Strange how he thinks that would get him anywhere. But, then, a lot of these rightwingers are authoritarian personalities. It really screws up their heads when someone tells them no.

6. So he's an annoying pissant. Why do you care if he believes you or not?
You know if it's true or not. Why does his opinion cause a ripple in your psyche? If it were me, I'd shrug my shoulders with a "Meh" and move on. Life's too short.

7. Tell the teaparty nut lady about the guy wanting to get in touch
because even an asshole like that might be willing to foot her bill just to get another teabagger blog back up. Let her figure out whether or not to contact him.

This is a case of "let you and him fight" and you need to get out of the middle ASAP.

9. so he's trying to get this information by
insisting that you're lying and that you have to prove it to him?

Bah.

That's a game we used to play when we were 12 years old.

What do you care if he doesn't believe you?

15. I had an internet stalker for a while...still don't know why.
He was harassing me on Usenet, Twitter, and probably some other places I've since forgotten, using several different identities. I only recently determined with 99.9% certainty who he is, but he hasn't bothered me in a while, and I've got better things to do than take some kind of revenge. Turns out I actually know him in real life anyway. No idea why I was lucky enough to be one of his targets.
