Do they get paid for their appearances?

For example, does anyone know if people like Eugine Robinson or Howard Fineman get a stipend for their appearances?

Not all contributors get paid. The regular ones many times do.

4. Well, I know they sign a contract.

But I don't know if it just pays up front or payments for a certain number of appearances or if they are paid per appearance. Those that are on daily, I figure get regular pay checks with a required number of appearances per week.
