1. Now it's awy from the center of the nest. I wonder how dad's going to cope with this? :)

2. Oh dear. Eaglet #1 is toward the edge of the nest and dad just sat on the egg and

eaglet #2. I hope it doesn't fell or try to fly in the wrong direction! :scared:

It tried to fly and ended up on the edge of the freakin' nest. If it would try that again, heading in the wrong direction....:scared:

45. I found myself trying to "push" it with my hand as I watched.

Trying to wave it over toward the middle of the nest.

We went out for awhile and when I came back, the single parent was there feeding the TWO hatchlings and there's still one egg left. The broken shells from the last hatching have been removed. Man was I ever relieved! And it looked like the two little ones were fighting with each other. Safely down in the middle of the nest. My husband's watching it now too.

47. Well, I WAS a nervous wreck! Reminded me of my kids doing something stupid

back when they were very little. And sometimes I very nearly sat on them then, myself.

I kept trying to wave the little getaway back toward the center of the nest with my hand while I was watching. When we came back from an errand and I checked again (OF COURSE I had to check again! Whaddyou kidding?) and saw BOTH chicks getting fed and what looked like bickering with each other a little, and a single egg that's not yet hatched. I was definitely relieved!!!! I worried about it the entire time we were out.

...you guys do realize there is an excelent chance that you will see the older chicks torturing and starving their younger siblings to death in the not to distant future. It is rare for all hatched raptor chicks to survive so dont get to Disney over the cuteness of the situation.

I thought the same thing - probably at least one will get pecked to death. There was definitely a dominant one.
