Wreckage from Air France jet found in Atlantic
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-12953432
<snip>
Wreckage from an Air France jet lost over the Atlantic nearly two years ago with 228 people on board has been found, French investigators say.

With the cause of the crash still unknown, a fourth attempt to locate the plane's voice and data recorders got under way last month.

Searchers located wreckage during the past 24 hours, investigators in Paris said, without giving details.

Flight 447 from Rio de Janeiro to Paris came down in a storm on 1 June 2009.

1. I knew they were going to keep searching...
Investigators (and Airbus) have got to get some answers on this disaster...

I don't know how much longer it will take to find the CVR/FDR (or even if they are still usable)

France says finds bodies in Atlantic crash wreckage
PARIS | Mon Apr 4, 2011

France's BEA accident investigation authority said on Sunday it had found a large part of the plane's wreckage including the engine and parts of the fuselage, and Environment Minister Nathalie Kosciusko-Morizet said on Monday there were human remains inside.

"We have more than just traces, we have bodies... Identification is possible," she told France Inter radio.

"It's true that bodies have been seen, but given the sensitive nature of the subject we prefer to keep certain details for the families," he told France Info radio.

The discovery of the chunks of the Air France wreckage in a vast search radius of some 10,000 square kilometers, has raised hopes that the aircraft's flight recorders, or black boxes, might now be found.
