If this CNN quick poll is any indication, there is peril in
the GOP shutting down our government. Not sure if they really care, just as long as they are successful in shifting more power into the hands of the oligarch.

If the government shuts down this week, will you blame the Democrats or the Republicans?

Republicans------60%--59068
Democrats-------40%--39786

1. The republican goal is power and money into the hands of the plutocracy. I will
never understand why many Americans think the republicans are their friends.

I know people here that align with republicans thinking they are going to make then wealthy. It's one mind-F game. I just don't get that type of logic, just how F'en dumb can people be ...

It's blatantly obvious they have no interest in the country or people unless they pocket some $$$ along the way. Most could give a F about the majority of citizens.

7. They've got theirs and they're out to make sure they have the rest of ours as well.
NOTHING the Republicans have proposed (or are proposing now) is not going to make my life (or anybody else's) one iota better or put any more coins in our pockets. They are ridiculously good, however, at demonizing their political opponents and rigging the system (including elections) so as to ensure that as many of 'them' get as much power as possible to enable them to enact their regressive agenda. IMHO in a completely free and FACT-BASED election, the Republicans would not be able to win many (any?) elections with the possible exception of the deep HOT-RED South (and maybe not even then). Republicans simply don't seem capable of winning without cheating somehow even if all that means is that the news gets slanted in just the 'right' direction. :puke:

8. Yep, and I think you hit the bottom line for republicans, which is, incapable of
winning without cheating. Cheating is their modus operandi.

18. Apparently, skillful propagandists are able to convince the masses
of anything, no matter how illogical or absurd the position might be.

20. It's amazing. It's much as if they are hypnotized by the RW. Some of the
propagandists are literally crazed looking and sounding, and many listen to them drooling on each word. It's absolutely amazing.

15. Well they better go all out.
The propaganda machinery they're up against is truly mighty. The bad guys have spent at least 30 years developing, investing, building, strategizing, and our side hasn't done squat. Except for resolutely remaining naive, and presuming (falsely) that the opposition is playing by the same playbook and the same rules and the same courtesies - or is even willing to do so in the first place. Let's make no mistake, and certainly let's not be naive about these people any longer!! The opposition HAS NEVER HAD ANY INTENTION of playing by the same playbook and the same rules and the same courtesy. They know and embrace one thing only: total domination. By any means necessary.

16. Define "Democrats" Our 'leaders' or the people?
Our leader sure won't. The people, however are getting fed-up and more outspoken.

11. I guess we are in agreement. I think the majority that reads CNN
tend to the moderate conservative side. I see some credence when the win is overwhelming, but still won't put an money on it because of the chance there was a bot or campaign to skew the results.

13. One thing that makes me Mistrust CNN's Polls
Edited on Mon Apr-04-11 12:18 PM by fascisthunter
- CNN has a corporate friendly bias especially for Republicans who have always represented the businessman. If anything, they probably want Obama and the dem leadership to believe this crap so that they move more to the right to win over voters.

17. no they don't care. they've just about completed stripping citizens of
all our rights and have stacked the courts so we'll have no legal recourse. They are well on their way to creating a caste system which is what they want and have wanted for some time. Corporate insterests can now openly fund their efforts and the citizenry sits back and watches......and then thanks them for their 'patriotisim'.
