Look At This-- Even Wisconsin's State Seal BACKS WORKERS!
There are no corporate images on this state seal. There are no out-of-state CEOs on the state seal.
Just a very determined badger, workers, tools, the fruits of LABOR and a desire to go FORWARD!!

Tomorrow we have an OBLIGATION to that dream. We must act to carry the spirit of progress forward!

A People, United (especially at the polls), can NEVER be defeated!

2. I think they may be ingots of lead...
The term 'badger' rather than cheesehead, referred to early lead miners working in the southwestern part of the state. They not only dug mines, they lived in dugouts in the hillsides...little more than badger holes...hence the name.

Sad to say if you're a peacenik, but Wisconsin was an important source of the materials for war. At the same time, lead was also used in printing. Wisconsin still has something of a love for both guns and books.

5. CT is a forward looking state and has a history of gun making.
The old Winchester (the gun that won the west) factory is here in New Haven, rehabbed and used for offices. Mr. Smith and Mr. Wesson were from CT. Colt still exists in Hartford.

14. That make sense.
Another aspect of the lead miners that resembled badgers was the pattern the lead dust left on their eyes after they took off their goggles.

7. It's just my opinion, but it seems we're trying to get it beyond the margins
that can be cheated.

Not all the races have great choices and there is an organized opposition. But since Vietnam, I've never seen people as engaged in an election. In Wisconsin it seems things have actually exceeded the excitement of the Obama campaign. I would not have thought that was possible.

13. They can flip the votes, just like Ohio 2004
Exit polls showed the exact opposite of 'election' results.

8. His Excellency shall change the motto to "Backward"
And a Koch Brother will replace each worker, while a pile of ill-gotten corporate tax break money will replace the labor symbols.

How do you like your new seal, Wisconsin?
