I filled up Saturday so I didn't have to stop today, but noticed $3.79 pg at a station in Detroit. That's 25 cents more per gallon than I paid Saturday.
What are the ugly numbers at your friendly neighborhood petrol station?

3. I saw 3.69 here in Central Texas... where the mean wage is 7.25 / hr

and no public transportation.
I can only imagine how it will be for these poor folks.

fuel prices. It's too good an opportunity for them not to raise costs. But I guess the net/net of it all is that fuel cost rising really touches just about everything one way or another.

It is expensive.. But you still have a way to go, to get up to the limits most europeans have to pay for their petrol on a regular basis... US 3.79 dosen't sound that expensive for a gallon of petrol - when most europeans have been used to pay the same ammount, for every single LITER for at least a decade and a half... If we had to do the math, the US are wort 5,50 NKR for the moment... And therefore a gallon of petrol in Norway cost 20,845 NKR... who are not that expensive. As norwigians for the moment pay 14 NKR for eath liter with petrol... For 4 liter, we have to pay 56 NKR... You still pay less for petrol there in US, than we do here in Norway....


But it all is from what perspective you have on it I guess...

..... It's priced much more realistically in Europe than in the U.S. But then again, it's typically much easier to get around European cities without a car than it is in the U.S.

True... But that is mostly becouse in Europe, a CAR have never been a right, as to breath fresh air... A car have allways been somewhat of a luxery item in most of Europe... And untill the 1960s in many european country, cars was rationed as it for the most part was either protected by big toll tarifs.. Or rationed out of fear of loosing hard currency needed to rebuild the country after world war two... After the early 1960s, the car was "free" but the prize have, for the most part also been expensive... But overall, the prize of a car, have going down since 1960;)

And, in Europe, we have also had a great tradition to use collective transports inside and between city's.. But again, the reason it is more easy to get around in EUROPEAN city's is becouse we never got into the business of building this large surburs, and not thinking longer than to their nose.. US in early 1960s had all the posibilitys of builing a transport network between and in your City's that could be better than most european country can muster today... BUT US shoose to trust their future in the car.. The entire future on a single item... And now you reap the prospect of that... Fuel is going up, and the large city's of the 1960s are doomed to either be killed of entirity.. Or to shruck to a far smaller size....

And even then, you have to rebuild/build up a new transport system who can be something that you can use for the 21 century...

It was about 3.450 to 3.509 on Saturday, jumped about 20 cents overnight by Sunday. What's up with that?

21. Last time I went...

I think it was a week or so ago, it was about 3.80, in rural Maine. The time before that I couldn't even see the price because the sign (that listed price) was covered with snow - which for some reason I found hilarious. It's probably gone up at least a few cents since then, maybe more. I don't know - I only rarely drive (my mom's car) and that's usually to pick up groceries that my parents need. They give me a list and a check - it's the very least I can do considering they feed me and give me a place to live.

I'd feel better about this if I was still 17 or 18 and had better job prospects. Unfortunately, rural area... no jobs, have to drive 30 miles for the nearest real town.. ouch. My future is not looking bright to me.

We are lucky that my fiance's company pays for his gasoline....or else we'd be screwed.
