Everything you see and hear on TV is faked (national collegiate b-ball championship) |
|
I'm watching the national collegiate b-ball championship and really enjoying it. The camera work is great and even the audio is good. It's just like being there. You can even hear the squeaking of rubber soles on polished hardwood. But wait. There's something not right. The squeaking doesn't match the action on the court. As happens in a b-ball game, sometimes things slow down and everyone slows down for a few seconds BUT the squeaking doesn't slow down and stop! Obviously, they are adding the sound of the shoes to make it seem more realistic, sorta like they add laugh tracks and applause tracks to some other shows. Nothing is real!
How I long for the good old days.

1. I don't think the sound is being faked, but I do think it's amplified. |

And now, it's all I can think about while watching. It's kind of an annoying sound.

2. Okay, I was going to stay away from this, but... |

I thought the same thing before the op...the sneaker sounds just don't seem to match up to anything. But why would they bother? Hardly seems worth the trouble. My guess a bad audio guy.
