It's a plutocracy, stupid

According to Bill Moyers over the last three decades, plutocrats have used their vastly increased wealth to assure that government does their bidding

........................

Everyone knows millions of Americans are in trouble. As Robert Reich recently summed it the state of working people: they have lost their jobs, their homes, and their savings.

Their grown children have moved back in with them. Their state and local taxes are rising. Teachers and firefighters are being laid off. The roads and bridges they count on are crumbling, pipelines are leaking, schools are dilapidated, and public libraries are being shut.

Why isn't government working for them? Because it has been bought off. It is as simple as that. And until we get clean money we are not going to get clean elections, and until we get clean elections, you can kiss goodbye government of, by, and for the people. Welcome to the plutocracy.

4. K to the effing R!
The entire political system needs to be overhauled/cleaned out starting with local/community elections and progressing to the state and federal levels. There will be very little progression for the people until we rid our government of the big businesses who work counter to our needs.

7. Agreed!
Get corporations and their supposed "free speech" out of government!

It should be a legally recognized conflict of interest for any corporation to ever have contact with government on any legislative issue.

They have too much wealth and power, and their legal mandate to make money even if it results in actions which are not in the public best interest, or are contrary to the public good, mean that corporations should Not Be Allowed to interfere with any matters of law or public policy in any way, shape or form.
