If you don't think they are out there- There ARE Democrats-to-be |
|
I was at the hairdressers today. She told me about her kid,who was luckily getting medicaid health insurance.I am known as a Democrat here.
"Tell Obama he needs to back the working poor and the uninsured"
This from a white,red-neck cowgirl beautician in Red Texas....in front of other clientelle. The working poor will respond if addressed...we ARE the majority anymore.

3. I hope people like that girl recognize that Obama cannot do it alone. She needs to look ..... |
|
at her Congressman. You'd be surprised how few people even know who their Congressman or Senator is, state or national, much less how they vote. Maybe, they vote for President. They don't read papers, other than their local weekly, which usually does not report political news.

4. BINGO lady. I'm pushing something similar as hard........ |
|
as I can in ruby red Tennessee. Stand UNEQUIVOCALLY on the side of the working class and poor and just SEE how fast you build a constituency. Hell around here we might as well. What we've done so far hasn't worked.

5. My children were Dems before I was |

as a 30+ year Independent. I finally thought to myself. End the charade. I have NEVER voted for a Repub in all that time, abhorred their social and financial views, etc., so what the hell was I an INDEPENDENT for, other than the principle of not wanting to join any Party?
I joined the Democratic Party in 2004. It was the same year I found DU because of my support for Kerry.
Forget the REPUKES. Go after the INDEPENDENTS.

7. Why would President Obama care about that now? |
|
Especially after he squandered away 2 years with majorities in both houses, the working poor were not even on his radar. Apparently those in poverty can't attend 30k per plate dinners, so meh...
