If there is a government shutdown, does the US military get shutdown?
Or is the Military Industrial Complex exempt?

5. What about the 3 wars?
Will those continue unabated if there is a shutdown?

9. Yep. Some civilian employees and contractors will get furloughed.
But the soldiers just keep on fighting.

11. My cousin, whose husband is in the AF, says he won't be paid.
She says they've already been alerted to this by his superiors. She's quite worried.

6. Nope. All that money we don't have still flows to the MIC. Makes a LOT of sense, eh?
Bastards.

7. I have a friend in the military (stateside) who says he won't be paid
if the government shuts down. I am presuming that the military abroad will be paid.

10. No, there will be "essential" and "non-essential" people
Essential people will provide national security help, some DoD employees, your military, and probably most of the TSA. Non-essential will ential your people who pay medicaid, cut SS checks, deliver your mail, etc.

The WarMachine will march on.
