I would crawl over broken glass to vote for Obama next year.
I may think he's a big disappointment. Sometimes he absolutely enrages me. I don't have much faith that he'll stand up for.... much, but yeah, I can't even imagine not voting for him. There is no other option as far as I'm concerned. Is it a defensive vote? You bet.

All the endless posts about how dreadful he is seem rather pointless to me in the face of the ongoing republican onslaught.

3. You're correct, he's been a disappointment
which we knew he was going to be when he appointed Geithner, Summers, and Rahm in his first few days.

However, considering what an absolute horror the GOP is, we have no choice. Sitting it out and letting them win is out of the question.

They don't know to change if we don't let them know they are doing something wrong, and us managers/voters, should talk about issues before his 2012 big review.

It's sad that it's come to this point - where we'd crawl over broken glass for a President we're not all that pleased with. The alternative though, is so frightening that I'd do just about anything to vote for Obama. Damn I'm tired.

12. Ummmm, I'd carefully pick my way through the broken glass to vote for him.

But I'll also still probably vote for him. Remember, however, that candidate Obama asked us to "hold his feet to the fire." With a few less than stellar moments, it's easy to go overboard on the negativity. He's done okay, but not perfect as some here maintain.

82. You can support a third party even say that's what you're doing
but don't say you're working to defeat the Democratic nominee (anyway don't say it here). So far there is no official Democratic nominee. Yeah Obama declared he's running but he hasn't won the nomination yet (he probably will), he could theoretically be challenged by another Democrat. You're right this is NOT the Obama Underground, anyway not yet.

83. You could apply some franchise leverage...
and vote for... Cthulu... Daffy Duck... "My Mom"... if nothing else, it's always entertaining to try to divine the contortions that the DLC and Media Talking Heads will have to employ to rationalize a sizeable vote for Daffy Duck as being a sign that the Democratic Party has to move further Right in order to hold onto voters/power (though, by quoting "consequences, schmonsequences... as long as I'm rich", it might be argued that Daffy Duck is appealing to the Rightward Leaning "independents"... and really has no appeal whatsoever for the Left—who therefore have no alternative to whatever candidate the Democratic Party ... offers them... thus further legitimizing the argument that the Left can go fuck themselves, cause they've got no choice but to smile about it in the end.)

Maybe Pinky and the Brain will choose to run :)

71. but what would he do for us?
He wouldn't hand us a damn Band-aid as a gesture to the gaping wounds in our knees. That would be better than the salt he's rubbed in over that last 2+ years.
Time to stop enabling our abusers. I'll work in the primary for a real choice to oppose corporatism. But wont vote for him when he gets it. I'll write in Sanders or someone.

86. I'll vote for him, but without the same enthusiasm of 2008
but he has been a competent president who has had some solid accomplishments. I think as the first African-American president he felt he needed to be more moderate than I would have liked.

the president must be political its the nature of things but that dosent mean he isnt working night & day to push for democratic values. and yes death is the only thing that would keep me from voting for president obama
