I've got the ghastly Paul Ryan on the brain
I can't stop thinking about the evil fuck and his horrible budget. It's a sign of just how far to the right we've moved when proposals that repukes wouldn't dare to introduce only a few years ago, are now jawed about as serious.

1. Maybe someone can talk him into running for the Senate?
At least, we would have a chance of beating him in a Senate race. He's pretty secure in the House, from what I understand.

2. I have been thinking the same thing.
How far we have fallen from the Reagan "safety net" days.

3. Which is why I can't understand why we don't laugh assholes like him -- and those who support him --

right out of the room. For any of these ideas to be considered for one second is a travesty and a goddamn shame and exactly opposite of what this country is supposed to stand for. For any of his ideas to not be pointed at and cackled at and hooted at on every television station by every Democratic rep and senator says a lot to me, frankly. All the blah-blah about bipartisanship and working together got us to this point. They don't WANT bipartisanship, they don't WANT to work together; they want to push until we push back. And why not? We haven't done a whole lot of pushing in the past few years -- at least, our elected reps sure haven't.

5. The reason.. and the ONLY reason they are being treated as "serious"
is because the media hasn't told anyone what's actually IN there.

That huge sloppy pool of unengaged and disinterested (until they notice that their ox is gored) citizens rely on those constant "before and after the break" teasers to decide what needs to be attended to.

6. He's performing a great service for this country
by poisoning the GOP well with the help of a few others -- Walker, Kasich, Scott, Le Page -- to name but a few.
