Look to Wisconsin for inspiration...they did what some said could not be done |
|
I am so blown away at how well the Democrats and our supporters did.. I know that K v P has not been finally decided yet..but just a few weeks ago..this was supposed to be a blow out for P..The R's are sweating bullets on this and if Wisconsin voters can turn this around it is will turn around their supreme court.
They handed Walker his lunch with Stone getting slammed to the ground when he tried to follow Walker into his old seat.
The Kochs and the right wing outspent even an uber energized union in Wisconsin.
I am just in amazement and so proud of what has been accomplished there.
Sometimes when you get a little down and think we are not gaining ground.. Look to Wisconsin..
:applause: :applause:
I stayed up late last night and have a sore throat to show for it.. so back to bed for this old gal..

1. But never forget how they had to fight for every single vote. |

4. It will always always be a in the trenches hand to hand combat |
|
..every single vote counts.. their side is as energized as ours.. and they have a load of money.. but that does not automatically give them the win as hope. I will take an energized farmer or fireman over a Koch brother and their outside minions anyday

5. That's because the Republicans are fighting for votes 24 hours a day with their constant propaganda. |
|
They've been fighting for years while the Democrats just sat around and watched.

9. Please don't count me as writing us off because I am part of "us", |
|
but I think we, as Democrats, can do much, much better in getting out and voting. I don't care how you try to spin it or soft soap it, if Democrats don't realize how important it is to vote in every election then we all will have to live with the consequences.

10. Don't add yourself to that count by writing "us" (yourself included) off. |

Of course we can do better, we can ALWAYS do better, but to say that there was apathy yesterday is a total lie and is a huge mis-characterization of the facts. The OP here is right, this race would have been an unnoticed blip on the radar that Prosser wouldn't have had a second thought about and now we're counting every vote. That is amazing and should not be discounted. Given the amount of hard work it's taken to change the entire dynamic of this race in 7 short weeks, you need to do like MP says and look on the bright side... it's there.
ETA - even the way you framed that earlier OP was a misrepresentation. When we expect 20% and 33% show up, that's not "13% more" - that's SIXTY-FIVE percent more.

12. I think we will need to agree to disagree, because we obviously are not going to agree. |
|
33-20=13 That is not a representation, that is math. You are simply stating it differently.

13. No, you clearly don't get how to calculate % increases. |
|
If a retailer charged $20 for an item and then marked it up to $33, that's a 65% increase.
A 13% increase would be $22.60. Your 13% claim is, well, wrong.
