Japan's Earthquake: A Last Days Sign?

**After reading this letter please "forward" it to your family and friends who you think might be interested.**

Greetings,

Every born again Christian I know that is also walking in the power and understanding of the Holy Spirit all seem to be saying the same thing. “The birth pangs of the woman with child are growing stronger and more frequent”, just as Matthew 24:8 and 1st Thessalonians 5:3 teach us.

This disaster in Japan has all the markings of a warning from God. Furthermore, he is beginning to lift his restraining hand of power against the fallen angels who rule over nations, allowing evil to multiply at a greater rate. This is clearly proven by the legalization of abortion and now homosexual marriage in various places. This is the generation which will witness the judgment of God upon the nations and the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.

All the signs of the last days are before us, and this evil world political-religious system is about to “give birth” to the greatest deceiver in human history, the infamous Antichrist. Satan, speaking through politicians and preachers alike, will offer the perplexed and tired nations his solution to all the world’s problems which, by the way, he created by manipulating the sin nature inherent in mankind. The Antichrist will first come in the name of Jesus, saying he is a Christian, but he will speak the seducing lies of the evil one. He will bring a Peace Covenant to Jerusalem and the Middle East, and prosperity to the “elite” leaders and merchants of the nations. And for awhile many will think the Kingdom of Heaven has been established on this war-torn planet.

As for the question about this earthquake in Japan being directly connected to the prophecies in Revelation 6 and 9 which speaks of the death of first one-fourth and then one-third of the population, I think the answer is no, not yet. But it is a warning sign of the coming great earthquake that is to level every city of every nation as it is recorded in Revelation 16:17-21.

Our Lord is coming back to remove his bride from the coming wrath of God that seems to be at the door. Those who love and trust the true and living Father and our Lord Jesus Christ are not appointed unto his wrath. Soon we shall be with him in Heaven, but until that glorious day arrives we are to cry out to our friends, family, and our enemies for them to repent and receive the Lord Jesus who shed his blood for their sins, rising from the dead, and then promising to return at the end of the age as he ascended into the clouds, his followers watching in awe.

Your eternal friend,
******* ***********

8. So where did Jesus go when he "ascended into the clouds"?

And did he fly up using newly sprouted wings or some advanced method of propulsion .... like a jet or rocket plane!

And if he rose into the clouds without any of the above how high did he go without oxygen equipment?

And why did he go up?

Is there something between the Earth and our moon that he traveled to .... like Heaven?

Of course, back in those times they didn't know what the moon was and J.C. didn't tell them for some reason .... maybe just an oversight.

I'm sure there is a logical, scientific explanation for all of this mumbo jumbo.

Religious is one thing, but these people are fanatics. With different circumstances, they would be in an insanity hospital.

one very important thing...

THE RAPTURE. If you haven't heard - God is going to take all the good Christians away on a cloud and leave the rest of us here to suffer through life without them... the very thought of such an existence...

We aren't going to have to fight much longer. When God comes for them, he'll leave the rest of us behind. We'll have a much saner world to live in.

38. I used to believe in the "rapture"
Back when I was a sorta fundie.

Of course, back then I was also deathly scared of the possibility of going to hell when I died, too. I'm still a Christian(though I prefer the term Christ-follower) but I no longer take the Bible literally and certainly no longer believe in the Rapture(which is not even IN the Bible, FFS). Oddly enough, I also no longer fear my own death. I have often found myself wishing there would be a Rapture though.. a fundie free world, would be a very nice one to live in! :)

Their vision of Deity/Creation is sadistic destruction and control. No wonder they are so screwed up.

44. It occurs to me (and this might seem strange to some) that if there
is any merit whatsoever to the notion that there actually IS an all-loving Deity who gave of Itself to save the souls of us mere mortal sinners, that the following is true...

it is in no way, shape, or form vain to know that one is ALREADY saved,
but it IS the height of hubris and arrogance to presume that everyone else is NOT.

This Rapture nonsense is, as far as I am concerned, nothing more than an attempt to mitigate the psychic trauma associated with the realization that someday, all of us are going to die, and not everyone alive today possesses a mind in which that fact is tolerable. And the idea that one DESERVES immortality is based on Vanity, (...supposedly the Devils FAVORITE sin, by the way ...{...does anyone else see the irony there???} =)...) and not a Damn thing else. Idiots.
That is all,
Peace
=)

Edited on Fri Apr-08-11 08:29 AM by deutsey
THIS is the best that a Deity like that can come up with to end the world and doom billions of people to eternal damnation?

An all-powerful, all-knowing God Who is present everywhere would be able to come up with an unambiguous way to communicate to everyone on Earth at the same time a message that everyone would understand about the world ending. This God would also be able to reveal what we all have to do about it to participate in the transformation.

Why all the "signs" and convoluted drama of earthquakes and Beasts and Four Horsemen, etc.?

He has ... don't take any notice of the bat-shit crazies (albeit more
delicately phrased as "false prophets") and be good boys & girls in the
meantime (="Do unto others ...").

The "signs", etc., are merely corroborative detail, intended to give artistic
verisimilitude to an otherwise bald and unconvincing narrative (to quote a
certain excellent writer).

Seriously, I believe in something I call God (closer to Hindu Vedanta or Philosophical Taoism than anything), so I don't really think there's a BIG GUY sitting on a throne somewhere Out There doing all the crazy shit fundies believe He is.

I just don't get why people would think an all-powerful (and all-loving) Deity would do the horrible and unnecessary things to bring about some kind of cosmic transformation.

50. Thus
are we witness to the continuing childlike mythologies that once were used to explain the inexplicable. Science--human intellectual prowess--has ripped these mythologies a new one, so many of the 'true faithful' have their wee panties in a twist.

Vanity, and power-mongering of EVERY kind, is one of the most delish ironies of the 'true faithful' set.

54. Last time I checked Revelations, nuclear accidents weren't mentioned.

Either way, we know what causes earthquakes and tsunamis, and God hasn't been implicated in either. Funny God would hit the people of Japan. Are they the most sinful on earth or is God just fooling around? It seems like He's fooled around with earthquakes and tsunamis a lot since the Bible was written.

Remember when nuclear war between the Soviet Union and the US was supposed to start the End of Times? Lately they've had hopes that Iran invading Israel would be it.

Personally, I so much miss that nuclear war scenario these days.
