The Path (ology) to Prosperity is the economic equivalent of building |
|
a nuclear reactor in an earthquake zone.
Disaster is inevitable, the poor can only get so poor before their allegiance to the owner class collapses. The resulting backlash will be a blood soaked tsunami of rage and destruction.
And people will wonder why? Why did Japan risk their entire nation by building a nuclear reactor in such a place that it could and would be destroyed by an act of Nature. Why would America deliberately destroy the social contract that has served it so well knowing that history has always taught us that unchecked wealth always results in unchecked violence against its beneficiaries?
What is this dark pathology that drives mankind to destroy all that is good around him in pursuit of an obviously self-destructive unsatisfiable greed?

"Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe." - Frank Zappa
Thank you for your thoughtful post. For profit nuclear industry. It's the nuke plant in the Simpson's TV show for real. It's as heinous as for profit health insurance. I'm in favor of nationalizing the nuke, oil, and power industries. This privatization bullshit is just bad for We the People. We need the commons back. It belongs to all of us, not the fucking corporations! Corporations are perfectly fine with mistakes that could end up irradiating millions of innocent people. Hell, it seems plausible that TEPCO execs are going to get seven figure bonuses for this biblical clusterfuck. This whole thing is way over the top.
