Obama: Energy policy is ripe for bipartisan cooperation.
Obama, speaking at a Gamesa Technology Corp. plant outside Philadelphia, said energy policy is ripe for bipartisan cooperation.

He said expanding U.S. energy security and expanding use of green sources will require “getting past some of the petty politics that we play, sometimes.”

“We should agree on some basic things. We should be able to agree on developing clean energy and reducing our dependence on foreign oil,” Obama said.

Obama also more broadly said energy should not be a polarizing issue. He criticized the notion that if you support green energy you are “some pointy-headed environmentalist type, but if you are all about just drilling and getting more oil, then you are a tough guy.”
