Resident pot smokers.

I looked for a forum or group to address this but didn't see one. (So mods, if there is one please feel free to move this.)

So I feel like I'm being drugged by my son's pot. Second hand vapors, I guess it would be called. He doesn't burn. But he vaporizes some very strong medical grade pot on pretty much a daily (sometimes all day) basis.

I'll have many days in a row when I feel so sleepy it's like I'm drugged. I fall asleep sitting at my desk and I can't wake myself up no matter what I try. Shower. Walk. Coffee. Energy drink. It's awful. And I usually have a ragging migraine that comes from or during it. (Smoking pot has triggered migraines in me since I was young, even though people say it's not possible.)

So I've begged him not to partake in the house because of the awful smell. (I can smell it from every room in the house and even outside the house.) And I notice when he complies because the house doesn't stink to high heaven. But just recently I'm realizing that I don't feel like death on those days either.

Is this possible?

its usually respiratory though, and itchiness. Second hand and fatigue might be connected but you might have other health issues too. If you can, I'd go see a doc for a checkup. Lots of things can cause that kind of fatigue and many could be quickly corrected.

If he's stinkin up the house, he must be burning some. Vaporizers don't combust pot, they only heat it to the temp where it releases the chemicals

I can't imagine anyone could get a contact high from vaporizing. Hell, it's pretty damn hard to get a contact high when someone's cheeching up the whole room. I'm guessing this "contact high" is being caused by something else.

And he's always trying to talk me into trying the edibles FOR my migraines. I just can't. I'm afraid of how sick I would get.

Anyway, I don't think the smell comes from the vapor as much as it's just the pot itself. I can smell it from his prescription bottles in his desk drawer. My sensitive nose is a curse I've lived with all my life. I can smell things miles away that other people can't. Could this pot be so strong that the smell alone is drugging me? I know there are people laughing up thread, but this is serious. It is hurting my ability to function normally, not to mention how bad I feel.

The bud has to be heated to release the chemicals that cause the high. Sounds more like you might have an allergy. A small amount of potent bud can smell up a house in a hurry.

Maybe that is the reason for all you ills, you won't accept it in your house and now your body agrees with you. Like I said, some of it is mental and the other probably is physical. I've smelt that pungent smell quite a few times in my life and it CAN get very overpowering - even at a live concert indoors. I think I exited the building that night through a roof opening.

It sounds like some of it is psychosomatic, but some of it could be possible. Is he is a well ventilated room? Put fabric softener in his rooms air duct, it should help a little with the smell. That is if you guys are using a lot of AC. Not a resident, but know that what you say can be possible. I've heard people say that they get headaches from pot, so maybe you do too.

I've never met anyone else that does, but I really do. But that's been direct smoking in the past. It just seems like second hand or the smell alone shouldn't be enough to make me react.

Every time I buy something from eBay, I send a message to please don't use Febreze, to no avail. Every damn piece of clothing smells like that shit - once I threw away a blouse...washed it many times, hung it in the sun, still that stink was there.

Febreze triggers migraines for me.

Fabric softeners also leave a film on clothes that is highly flammable.

I don't know. We only have a small patch of lawn and it does make me feel ill when the gardeners cut it but I've always assumed it was the gas fumes from the mower. That's something I will look into. Thanks!

Many people have chemical sensitivities, and each one varies. This could be yours.

Make sure your water heater, gas stove, etc. are all venting properly.

Carbon monoxide causes headaches and sleepiness in low doses.

In higher doses, it kills you.

I used to smoke pot frequently myself, but at some point I started having severe panic attacks whenever I did. Had to stop - I can't even handle being in the same room as pot smoke anymore. If it's hurting your health, don't let him do it in the house.

should be the best option for you both. I hesitate telling you this only because I would hate for any harrasment
