New Jersey Gov. Christie calls teachers union ‘political thugs’
By Eric W. Dolan
Wednesday, April 6th, 2011 -- 7:16 pm

New Jersey Republican Gov. Chris Christie had harsh words for the state's largest teacher's union on Wednesday.

In an interview Wednesday night, the governor told ABC's World News host Diane Sawyer that New Jersey teachers were wonderful public servants but that the New Jersey Education Association (NJEA) was a "group of political thugs."

"Governor Christie’s name-calling is a tired attempt to draw attention away from the fact that he chose to cut taxes for millionaires, rather than fund the state’s public schools," NJEA President Barbara Keshishian responded in a statement.

No pig ever cancelled a much-needed tunnel.

4. The one thing I'm happy about in my state...
..is that people are repeating the very simple, and very clear mantra that Christie "cut taxes for millionaires and took money away from schools". Period. It's that simple and it's that understandable. I'm not sure who is running the commercials to that effect here in the state but I'm happy seeing them very frequently.

He is a horrid, wretched human being.

6. It only will.....
If the national groups and the national democratic party pick up on it and hammer it home.

The national groups will hopefully, but the Democratic party won't. Mostly because they seem to agree with the "Plenty for millionaires..." part of it, since the whole concept of "trickle down" is now entrenched political conventional wisdom internalized by most people elected to national offices.
