Is Boehner afraid of the Tea Party? |
|
Edited on Thu Apr-07-11 08:44 AM by davidthegnome
Honest question - what do you think? I've given this some thought and I've been paying careful attention to this Teabagger "revolution". It's backed by corporations and individuals with a lot of money and power. A lot of it's members are part of various right wing fanatic militias and fringe movements.
Now one theory I have is that the republicans in congress fear the backlash from their corporate donors if they compromise. Another is that they're honestly afraid for their lives. Is congress being held hostage by crazy assholes with guns?
Maybe this is a lunatic conspiracy theory of mine. Maybe it's early and I haven't had enough coffee yet... still, I can't help but wonder. A government shutdown will cost the Nation a great deal, republicans will almost certainly be blamed by the majority. I don't think Boehner is stupid - I think he's an asshole, but nonetheless I wonder if he is truly afraid for his life.
So, do I need a tinfoil hat or do my suspicions have merit?
(Edited to change "conspiracy" to "conspiracy theory". I need more coffee.)

2. He looked ready to piss his pants during his brief comments last night. |

It was a stark contrast to Reid's demeanor.
I really do think Boehner is scared on the teanuts.

The fact that his part created the monster provides him no cover.
