Every single Talk Show should be flooded with Democrats
It is time to stand up and fight.. I am sick of the only people being heard from are Republican slime..Democrats need to get out in force. Make some Ads and hit every single talk show, even on Fox..If the ONLY thing the people ever hear is Republican talking points then that is what they will believe...It is all the Democrats fault and Republicans just want to SAVE the country from them.

1. Hard for democrats to get on TV
Edited on Thu Apr-07-11 10:03 AM by emulatorloo
That's why cable news aggravates me so.

In a nutshell, they only report news that is good for Republicans.

Then when news is bad for Republicans, they try to spin it as being good for Republicans.

When they have Republicans on, they ask respectful questions, do not fact check them and give them endless time to answer.

When they have Democrats on, they ask republican talking point based questions, and then 'run out of time"

However I do expect they will put some Dems on if the Republicans shut it down.

2. I agree! They need to be shouting about the death panels in Ryan's budget.
They need to be shouting about everything that is in this budget. Yes, cutting millions from the deficit sounds great UNTIL people hear what is in it. But if people don't hear what's in there - they will never know until it's too late.

10. AND they need their spokespeople to get aggressive and, if they're not invited on
talk shows, GET THEIR ASSES ON THE PHONE AND CALL THE TALK SHOW OFFICES AND GET THE BOOKERS AND DEMAND THAT THEIR BOSS BE BOOKED ON THE SHOW FOR EQUAL TIME PURPOSES. START MAKING A STINK ABOUT IT!!!!!

Sorry to shout. I guess I think maybe I'm yelling loud enough that one of the frickin' blockheads I'm really talking about might actually hear me... dumb, I know.

But forcryingoutloud - EVERY Democrat on Capitol Hill NEEDS to have one of his or her staffers be assigned as the point person for media. Pick the pushiest, most aggressive, but most charming and maybe physically cute among them. That person needs to start sidling up to media people. Cultivate SOMEBODY on staff at EVERY one of the talk shows on EVERY network and EVERY cable outlet. EVERY ONE. Make friends with the people behind the scenes, the bookers, the associate producers, get their cell numbers and their after-hours numbers and their private fax numbers and emails and stuff. Take 'em out for coffee, build the connections. THEN you have a bridge into those shows. You have somebody you can call on the inside when you're monitoring these shows and nobody's on there speaking for Democrats and it's wall-to-wall republi-CONS. YOU GET YOUR ASS OVER THERE AND GET ON TOO!!! GET YOUR BOSS ON THERE. GET HIS/HER POLICY PERSON ON THERE if you can't get your boss on him/herself.

I don't think ANY of our people really gets it. We have far far far too many Dems who are just sure that "the people will SEE! The American people will just KNOW that what we're doing is the best... blah blah blah - " and the reality is - NO THEY WON'T!!!!!!!!!! They won't because they need to be told over and over and over and over again what to think. They need to be told, spoonfed, force-fed even, what the truth is!!!!! And it has to be REPEATED. Again and again and again and again. Nobody's going to see the Democrats' side of things if all they ever hear is the GOP side. Do the Dems think the public is a bunch of mindreaders or something??? Do they expect the American people, as gullible and brain-dead and dumbed-down as they are - to just somehow magically divine the truth amidst the mighty fog machines of Pox Noise and limbaugh and all the rest of the lean-to-extreme" chattering class? SHEESH!!!!!!

5. You've hit the nail on the head. The main reason why the Repubs.
are ahead in terms of making such a high percentage of Americans believe
their obvious propaganda and lies, is that the Repubs. are so agressively
promoting them -- non-stop. Much of the time there is not even any effective
peep from the Dems.in rebutting the lies.

What other result can anyone expect?

Dems. lack cohesion -- even during times of crises, when they should
stick together. I'm all for going one's own way -- but not during times
of crises.

6. I totally agree!
We need a strong aggressive narrative that puts the GOP on the defensive and we need to be out in force all over the airwaves putting it out there.

9. Yes, we do -- and on a PERMANENT basis. We can learn a lot from
the Repubs. right here. They started their news media over a century ago, and
today they own 90% of it. I admire them for their hard-work, planning and
persistence. They didn't unexpectedly find themselves there, they worked for
what they've got! It's unfortunate that they're in it only for their own
benefit and profit, and at the expense of everybody else. But, that's the way
sociopaths are.

So they have brain-washed too many of us, and half the country simply does their
bidding without question -- the brain-washed half.

Dems. just have to get more and more into the news media business, among other
things, and get in to stay.

Let's try to promote what we already have: Al Gore's "Current TV", on which
Keith Olbermann will soon start. Then there's Bloomberg. I watch it briefly
once in a while, I don't know much about it.
