Boner comes right out and says that there is "No daylight" between him and the teabaggers.
When Stephanopoulos pressed Boehner on his suggestion that there's "no light between" himself and the Tea Party, the House Speaker said, "None." He added, "What they want is they want us to cut spending. They want us to deal with this crushing debt that's going to crush the future for our kids and grandkids. There's no daylight there."

Here's the video if you want to watch:

Obama, Biden, Reid - I do NOT want to live in a country that is ruled by these heartless idiots!
Please don't cave.

7. Indeed, there is no compromise available
I think it was Digby who came up with the analogy: Say you're taking a young woman out for dinner. You say you're thinking Italian, she says she wants to eat hubcaps and barbed wire. There isn't a compromise here if you want to eat a healthful meal. It's the same with the Tea Baggers, if you want the country to be functional at all (and it's pretty dysfunctional now).

8. IE, I don't want to get my orange ass primaried by these idiots in '12.
Boehner is caught. The 'baggers were already talking about primarying him in '12 for being less than pure. That is why we're seeing "no daylight". But if he does go ahead and shuts down the government, far too many people will put the blame on him anyway, and thus he could lose in '12 anyway, despite 'bagger support.

11. Thank you for this. But, if the Democrats/Obama do nothing, the government
remains shut down. What do you think they should do, since the Republicans/Teabaggers refuse to budge?
