I think/hope/pray the Republicans are about to get hit over the head with a cliche..

Those that do not learn from history ( think 1995 government shut down) are doomed to repeat it..

1. I would say that they are incapable of learning in any real sense.

3. They never seem to learn from the past, do they?
The stupidity (and arrogance) of these people never ceases to amaze me.

4. And another one: Medicare is the third rail of politics.
And I'm sure there are many more that we fondly hope crushes them.

5. Rush Limbaugh this morning. I can't quote his exact words

but according to him we have a different news media than we did back in 1994. In other words we have Faux and the other MSN media will back us for fear of being called biased. They also have nearly every talk show on radio. I'll bet the Republicans have ads in the can bought and paid for by big buisiness already waiting to run 24/7 pinning the shutdown on the Democrats.

6. Hopefully you are right. I tend to agree that the republicans are living in an echo chamber.
Hopefully people realize that a government shut down looks almost exactly like what the republicans want to do in the end anyway.
