Leak: General Carter Ham Closed Testimony -- Removing Gaddafi coudl be a mistake!! |
|
Edited on Thu Apr-07-11 03:05 PM by Distant Observer
General Carter Ham, head of US Africa command and leader of the US strikes on Libya created much chagrin among congressmen by testifying that his best judgement NOW is that Regime Change in Libya could result in consequences detrimental both to the people of Libya and to U.S. interest.
This tit-bit came out on MSNBC Martin Bashir.
Wonder if any more will come out. What does the General know that the State Department tweeters don't??

3. FACTS! US Oil gave up on any deals in Libya last year because of "onerous terms" |
|
Last October, US oil giants— Chevron and Occidental Petroleum— made a surprising decision to pull out offices from Libya, complaining that terms for exploration and production in Libya were not profitable.
The Gaddafi regime has been notorious for providing only slim profit for foreign companies.

2. Ah yes, the age-old question of power: whom should we fuck over? |
|
As our President has shown regularly, the avoidance of clear stances allows one considerable leeway to go another way. The perfect ultramoderate's solution would be to support both sides, so we're on the winning side either way.

5. If the USA had a decent track record for successful Military Interventions... |
|
...in he Middle East and Asia over the last 60 years, I would be willing to listen. "They" have NEVER told the truth.
Follow the money. In 2009, Gaddafi demanded (and received)a larger percentage of the Oil Profits ($5.4 Billion). Then he said the "N" word.... Nationalize.
Its not healthy to Fuck with the Profits of the Global Oil Corporations.
If you are not FOR this new WAR, Then you are WITH The Communists AlQaeda Saddam The Terrorists Qaddafi!!!
