The Repub spin is on and a (R) Congressman just blatantly lied on CNN -
The Congressman had a short snip on CNN. Framed their proposal solely in terms of military pay. An accurate point of their proposal, to an extent, but *totally* disregarding the rest of the package. And Dem's agree with ensuring military pay. We disagree with the package and the political gamesmanship.

This is the spin -

They are supporting the troops. Dem's aren't. Geez, this one was so predictable. And such a tacky political ploy.

He then went on to his closer - "We don't get any checks either during a shutdown."

That's not true, as far as I understand it. Congress is an "essential function" under a government shut down, no? They get paid, as scheduled.

(Sorry, I didn't catch his name. It was brief on site, walk on clip.)

6. Yeah. I'm too old to be surprised, yet just shake my head at times.
And remain in the game.

Good to see you around Mag.

2. So, no problem...all they have to do is submit a separate bill
to continue military pay and then Dems will support it. Why haven't they done that?

7. They CLAIM they've submitted such a bill, but it of course has lots of unacceptable
stuff attached to it that they're not being as vocal about. The DEMS should submit the stand-alone bill and see how the Republicans deal with that.

9. We're not being as vocal about why this particular bill is BS - my great hair-puller-outer,

5. The President can determine who gets paid. He will take care
of the Military. The Republicans in House again trying
to be too cute by half. They make a big deal about
the Military thinking they are boxing the President
in. Just another trick.

10. I saw that too but because when he said that, I snapped up my head
from my monitor and looked the the TV. Moments earlier they were playing the military angle and I rolled my eyes and went back to work. Then he said that they also would not be paid, I nearly broke my neck snapping back to the TV.

Fuckers are evil.
