The County Clerk in Waukesha County has been criticized for election practices in the past:

http://www.onewisconsinnow.org/press/election-returns-what-went-on-in-waukesha.html

Waukesha County Clerk Kathy Nickolaus, a former staffer for the Assembly Republican Caucus, has been sharply criticized in recent months for her handling of recent elections. Even the archly-conservative Waukesha County Board has sharply condemned Nickolaus after past elections, demanding an immediate audit of her practices following ominous red-flags that emerged regarding her lack of oversight, failure to create backup files and her stubborn insistence to “keep everything secret.”

The County auditors said it was eminently possible -- including historical precedent -- for Nickolaus or a rogue employee to tamper with data. Why? Nickolaus insists on controlling password access and has unilaterally decided to move sensitive files, like election results, onto her personal computer.

3. well , because of her, the entire town's vote should be discarded
there's no way of knowing what the real numbers were, so throw it out. She should be indicted for election fraud and barred from working in a public office in any capacity.

5. We Should Always Default to Counting All Votes
Come on guys, where did your principles suddenly go? We should always want to count all votes. That should be the default position, regardless of whether it helps or hurts our short-term causes. Once you agree to discard votes because they happen to not go your way, you lose credibility for the next time when the shoe is on the other foot.

Sorry, we should count those votes, even if they hurt us this time. That's the right thing to do. It's what we did with Frankin's senatorial election, and it's what we should do here as well.

15. There's this, for what its worth
The wild swing in Prosser's favor immediately raised concerns among Dems, who pointed out Nickolaus is a former staffer for the Assembly Republican Caucus who was granted immunity in the investigation into allegations of illegal campaign activities on state time.

Ramona Kitzinger, the Democratic member of the county board of canvass, defended the process. She agreed with Nickolaus that the board "went over everything and made sure that all the numbers jived up, and they did."

"I'm the Democratic vice chair of Waukesha County, so I'm not going to stand here and tell you something that's not true," Kitzinger said.

7. Even when the votes are being kept on someone's personal computer
and that someone has been refusing access to her computer when others sought to do audits?

9. But how do you know they are legit? It took all night for these votes
to be discovered? You are willing to believe this? Goodluck with that and never plan on winning another election.

10. We know because it's very consistent for that town
Because the same sources who supported Democrats when they WERE being screwed say these are legit votes, and they are very similar to prior voting in that town. It would be a lie to pretend that town didn't vote, or to discard votes with the intent to win, rather than with the intent to support democracy.

14. Not really if she tainted the vote then they need to be disqualified.
Edited on Thu Apr-07-11 06:23 PM by Rex
You go ahead and believe that, I will wait and see what turns up about her. She was a programmer on a 'leaky' PC and the President of the local Repukes chapter...so no, don't just believe something because of how votes looked last time...how do you know how people voted in THIS election?

I think it is a lie to pretend we need NOT wait to see if she commited fraud yet or not.

""and they are very similar to prior voting in that town.""

how do you know they were legit the prior time?

a 70/30 split favoring conservatives? Is there any place in this country it's really that bad?

13. Except that, elections are being PREDICTED and CALLED by a tiny percentage of votes ...
so it is more likely that a scam of held back votes will work --

The LARGE computers used by MSM give them the ability -- since the mid-19650's --

to PREDICT and CALL elections.

Prior to that time they could ONLY REPORT RESULTS BASED ON ACTUAL VOTE TALLIES.

Do we care if we don't get the 1% or 3% report early? Or would we rather have

a more solid system ensuring that ALL votes are in?

Remember Landslide Lyndon? Wasn't that what happened in his election?

Another box of votes was found -- ?

23. We should hand count all votes in her district and subpoena her PC
I am all for counting the votes, but there is no reason we should have to trust her to do the counting.

17. Noticed on election night
that Waukesha showed a high percentage of uncounted precincts when most other districts were almost completely counted. Sure looked like a wait-and-see-how-many-votes-we-need scam in the offing...
