Found: 7,000 GOP Votes. Oh, Yeah, 2012 Is Going To Be Totally Legit!
So keep on keeping on, folks! You know all the money and time and energy you pour into our electoral system, the better the chances of the election being on the up and up!

I mean, come on - the GOP has only had 12 YEARS to perfect their vote counting/controlling software and processes, and they've got their lawyers and tea bagger cannon fodder all lined up and ready to roll. How could any of this possiblty affect the 2012 outcome?

So let's all move forward like the lemmings we are expected to mimic, and TRUST that 2012 is going to turn out fair, square, and totally just fine.

Come on - we've got a billion dollars to pour into the election for just one candidate - we had better get busy if we're going to have enough cash to feed the system. After all, 2016 is just around the corner - can you imagine what THAT one is going to cost us? Yay, system!

3. 14,000 with a net gain of 8k for Prosser.
They weren't "found" they just were mistakenly not included in totals Tues night. Our Democratic reps are on this.

6. AP only gets county totals. ward by ward doesn't get reported til after certification.
Edited on Thu Apr-07-11 06:48 PM by PeaceNikki
And it was DURING the certification that it was caught.

11. The AP doesn't get that breakdown on election night.
They get how many precincts have reported and what the total for the county is.

It happened (to a lesser degree) in our favor on election night.

Right up until the end, there were two precincts in Milwaukee that hadn't reported yet. Some of us thought this would help us, but then we found out that those two precincts were in West Allis (which happens to be one of the few red precints in the county) and it looked like Prosser could pick up enough votes to put him over the top (with no other precincts left to make up the difference).

Then right at the end we found out that their figures HAD been included in the county total... they just hadn't been checked off of the precincts-reporting list.

5. What if there really was an error? Did not Franken win when they did a recount?
I think we need to wait and see the facts before running around claiming fraud.

My Dem CD chair has spoken with the dem rep, it seems like a legit mistake.

Should it have happened? no
Is the clerk an incompetent asshole? yes

12. I'm so sorry....
But I'll keep hoping that there's something illegitimate about the votes any way.

13. Yeah, me, too. Get that... feel it, but jumping to conclusions is bad.
Edited on Thu Apr-07-11 06:51 PM by PeaceNikki
In addition, if a mistake like this happened in a blue city/county, I'd be fighting for the votes to count, too.

And... Waukesha County Dems are awesome, they are on this.

17. You do not know the facts and you are screaming fraud.
I am asking you this again. What if there was an error? You are making yourself look silly by jumping up and down and throwing out accusations without knowing the facts.

19. Of course, you are right - I am suspicious.
After being burned repeatedly in races big and small, to be vocally concerned in any way when appearences tend to favor what has become the rule - suspicious vote total changes with no backup records (ie, proof) - rather than the exception - secure voting with actual accountability - is what - unfittingly paranoid?

Sonmeone punches me repeatedly in the face - and when it looks like they are drawing back to punch me again - yeah, I flinch.

Sorry, I just cannot be Charlie Friggin' Brown...

15. I notice that Wisconsin does not have one govt agency responsible for elections in their counties.
IMO that is not good. If there are 25 cities, towns, etc in a county each of those jurisdictions are responsible for their elections. I would think that elections should be conducted by the county.

20. Trying to find the good in this...
Next recall/election - more work! More voters. This may be a good thing, it may cause MORE outrage and bring more voters to the upcoming elections.

Use this to focus on the fact that nothing can be taken for granted - NOTHING.

Shine On Wisconsin, we are with you.

Annette
