1. Wrong timing for a shut down.
If my money ain't there on the 12th, I'm going to requesting a double on my tax refund for each day it is late. Yes, I can *INCUR* penalties, and if it ain't there, then I'll count the days that the Rethug wasted time fucking around and shouting them, then I will hit them with a massive deduction called "Government Shutdown Waste of Time, and Thank your Republicans, and Get your fucking share from the rich" of the exact amount that the original tax refund is due TIMEX the day the money is not in my bank account.

2. What do you mean hurt? They will make advances and our hole will be deeper
So, they may well pay a short term "price" for a cycle but their positions will be strengthened and much of what we have fought for over the generations will be sacrificed to make a "deal".
