Its not even really a shut down. Someone somewhere has decided that certain things must go on. In other words, someone somewhere got to hand pick where the pain is felt, and who feels it.
This is such a freakin joke, it not even funny.
And we all fall for it.
They are BSing us.....big time.
If the government shuts down, the street lights should go dark.....no public schools, no military, etc. etc.
This is NOT a government shut down. Its just a bunch of drama queens trying to out victim each other.
Its embarrassing. Are there any grownups left??

1. The point, since it may not have been clear |
|
The point is that they have the whole freakin country on pins and needles over this crap.....some of us have our livelihood in limbo......over nothing......money was not an issue for lybia....and its not an issue for iraq, or afganistan.
We are being played. We have money for what is important.....its just that we have idiots deciding what is important.

5. probably got me on that one |

I'm sure you are right about the streetlights.....and no doubt there are other things that would be local.
But it doesn't change my original opinion. They are scaring us over something they don't have the balls to REALLY do.....they only have the balls to do it part of the way.
I am not FOR a shut down.....I am just appalled that it is being used as a political game.

Remember the health care debate? Near the end, even though there was NO FEDERAL FUNDING FOR ABORTION, an amendment was added to RE-SPECIFY that item. I think that this will be a repeat.

6. It is political posturing |

Trying to get people to focus on abortion and social issues again while they finish spending the rest of our money on their own campaign contributors.
Our Congress for the most part with few exceptions are corporate sponsored hacks who do the bidding of their sponsor.
The tricky part is how to do it without anyone noticing.
So, they run around yelling...GLOBAL WARMING IS A HOAX! This is facilitated by the propaganda channels constant harping this as the truth--without proof, without science...basically, just because they said so. People have been so trained to trust the media. But the real reason is because International Paper/Georgia Pacific/Oil companies demand from them that they do away with the EPA so that they can pollute our country at will without any recourse.
So, they run around yelling...ABORTION CANNOT BE PAID FOR WITH TAX DOLLARS!...Regardless of your position, abortion cannot legally be paid for with federal funding. It's already a done deal...yet, the propaganda channels insist it is happening, as we speak.
On and on and on...every issue...it is just red meat for idiots.

7. The troops without paychecks will know there's a shutdown. |
|
They'll still be required to work, however.
Street lights and public schools are funded by local governments, not Federal.
