Mestinon, but I cannot afford health insurance. I am a full time student at City College Of San Francisco and a part time but lately mostly full time worker, working 12 shifts for Ontel Security Services based out Modesto, CA. I began having symptoms of this disease in June of 1999 and was diagnosed with the disease in January of 2000. I haven't been to the Dr. since 2004 and that was last time I took any medication. On the positive side I will be out of debt by the middle of July and on the negative side who knows how much my disease has progressed; which is why I am predicting a short life for myself. I was 21 when I began to show symptoms, by the way Kaiser was my insurance provider. They diagnosed me and the dispatched me a few months later. This is one of the many reasons I support medicare for all. If you want to help out my fellow Myasthenics please donate to http://www.myasthenia.org/

1. Can you see a Dr.
at your college if you're a full time student?

If you can get a prescription for Mestinon I'd then contact the maker Valeant Pharmaceuticals at 1.800.556.1937 or fill out their patient assistance program form.

http://www.rxassist.org/Search/Prog_Details.cfm?program_Id=132&PD_Id=485&Drug_Id=1553&Company_Id=85&search_type=2

I don't know this company or how well their patient assistance setup works but I know a lot of people being helped by these with other companies.

Best of luck.

4. You're welcome
please do head down there. Some colleges may have nurse practitioners but if that's the case they should be able to point you to support. I'm not at all familiar with California but there must be a way to get this done.

For most of these assistance programs all you need is a prescription you don't have to be under permanent care of a single doctor.

Best of luck with this, nobody should have to go without treatment of any condition when there is a treatment available.

5. Great Scott! Commuting from the Bay Area to Modesto is rough enough without MG!

well over an hour each way with no traffic. Not to mention the 12-hour shifts. :(

7. My 94 year old uncle has suffered from that for decades
I hope you get the proper treatment and can do as well as he has.
