Why would a woman ever vote for a republican again? |
|
Shutting down the federal government over a woman's right to get reproductive health care services should be the nail in the coffin of ever getting any support from women again for republicans*.
If I had a vagina I would be one very mad girl.
* Except for Fox news watching whack jobs who think Sarah Palin is good example of family values and faith.

Is the only thing I can think of.
They only women who can honestly vote republican these days are women who honestly don't know they are their own free moral agents.
It wasn't always that way. Back in the days of protesting to get the women's right to vote, quite a few suffragist women were Republicans.

6. Indoctrination I guess |
|
I don't get it either. When I meet other women who consider themselves Republican there usually is a bitter, close minded element to them. Damaged in some way I can't define. The semi-good news is what I've been hearing lately from repuke types of either gender is a distancing. For instead I have a friend who considers himself 'conservative' but not republican. He's not crazy, and understands a woman's right to choose from a practical standpoint at least.

10. I had a girlfriend many years ago |
|
Her mother was involved in local politics, and something of a force. When Republicans finally shut down the Equal Rights Amendment in 1982, the mother mailed in her voter registration card to the local Republican committee and told them that 50 years of being a woman outweighed 30 years of being a Republican, and she could no longer belong to a party that didn't see her as a citizen equal to any man.
Republican women, you can see that in the eyes of your fellow Republicans your life is little more than a bargaining chip to secure a temporary political victory. Do you really think so little of yourself and your life that you're willing to put your life in play so that the likes of John Boehner can strut around and crow about an empty victory?

11. This is the way they think: |
|
"My husband and I PAY our doctor for my and our daughters' health care. Who needs Planned Parenthood? Just a bunch of welfare queens."
"Don't try to confuse me by telling me that PP saves money by preventing unwanted pregnancies, which could otherwise result in more costs in the long run. I don't like math."
"My husband is going to take care of me. So I don't need equal rights on the job. If I do work, I think I am so excellent that everyone will recognize that and treat me well regardless of gender."
"God told me to vote for Republicans. They have Christian values like I do."
"My husband would never divorce me, or die. So I'll be fine. The rest of you need to find good husbands and go into the kitchen like good girls, and all of us would be better off."

It's clear they don't stand for women's rights, for gay rights, for worker's rights, you name it. They are not the party of the people. They are the party of the billionaires.

They don't care about themselves as women an they certainly don't care about women as a group. They see themselves as an appendage to the men in their lives, be it their husbands, dads, sons, etc.
