Dems. can't compete with the Repubs. informationwise. They own 90% of the news media. Why don't |
|
Dems compete more in the news industry? It sure helps to win elections!
The Repubs. didn't own the 90% overnight. They worked long and hard for it, and now they've got it. You've got to admire their hard work and persistence. Things didn't just drop into their laps.
How can we help grow Al Gore's "Current TV" on which Keith Olbermann will soon be broadcasting? Then there's also Bloomberg's news on cable. I know very little about Bloomberg.
It's hard to get organized, but we've got to do it -- if we wish to win more elections.

1. The Republicans Own the Media Because They Have More Money |
|
It's not so much a question of working "long and hard", as it is simply having enough money to buy the networks. Current TV is only on a very small number of cable systems. Services like that can be muzzled easily by simply keeping them off cable. That is the fundamental problem with cable — THEY get to decide what is on it, not US.
They are seeking to do the same with the Internet, which is the only viable communications channel we have left.

2. this is why I get Pissed hearing people fret about what the media will say |
|
if you do that, you may as well just role over and not be an opposing party with a different pov. This media will go after you no matter what, because it is owned by the right wing.
