Why aren't the wars a budget issue?
Isnt that a no brainer?

That and defense spending cuts should have been our bargaining position. Then we decide on amount and cut out of the Repubs pet projects. We would be for fiscal responsibility instead of looking like our only goal is to keep spending.

1. The Democrats already used this in the 2006 & 2008 campaigns
They can't "do" antiwar anymore

6. I've come to the conclusion that more money for defense guarantees more wars
And more of our blood spilled for the benefit of people who may or may not be on our side.

I want out. Look at Obama. He couldn't resist using our resources to save people and now he has gotten us into a mess. For our own good we need to shrink our military budget.

5. You mean our side is bought?
Well then I guess it is hopeless. We can't expect anything out of these negotiations.

8. Baby, they're all bought and paid for in one way or another. But there's bought and then there is
SOLD OUT. Not all politicians have SOLD OUT when they heed their districts values or the needs of their constituents. They are after all, hired to represent their voters. So when there is a military interest in their areas, military base-company-etc., of course they will vote in favor of it.

Patriotism at its finest.

3. We've only been there 10 years...
Don't you think it's a little premature to talk such nonsense? After all, someone might misinterpret that as pulling out of NATO?

4. Actually it's not. We borrow the money from China and give it directly...
...to the Global Military Industrial Complex.

Our great, great grandchildren will pay it back, with interest. So no problem.

7. But the fact is too many people make money on war
It's our #1 export. And these just happen to be the same people who now own our government.
