MARK KARLIN, EDITOR OF BUZZFLASH AT TRUTHOUT

The Madison Cap Times is calling for a federal probe into the two-day delayed "discovery" of 7,582 votes for David Prosser, just enough to put the election out of the range of a state-funded recount for the "presumptive" winner Joanne Kloppenburg.

Without a federal investigation - given that Gov. Scott Walker loyalists would control an administrative State Board of Elections review - we can only maintain the deepest suspicions over what is occurring, and that it may be another theft of an election by the Republicans.

You have to go back to the 2000 Florida standoff to find a figure who so matches Katherine Harris as does Waukesha County clerk Kathy Nickolaus, who claims to have made a "mistake" unheard of before in the Badger State.

3. I said that last night.
So I agree with you. Sorry, that may well be the proverbial "kiss of death", me agreeing with you. See, I got laughed at and sneered at when I suggested what you are suggesting.
Sorry if I sound bitter in response to your excellent post. But sometimes I think I'm peeing into the wind here.

5. I agree too

I have no doubt that she is trying to steal this election.

6. Democrats -- We're keeping our powder dry for 5 years now.
If we're not going to fire over the most basic aspect of democracy -- honest elections -- we are a sad lot.

7. If she claims it is her "personal property", tell her SHE GAVE THAT UP when she put this data on it!
If you start using your own computer for data (especially without backup) that is OWNED by others (the people of Wisconsin), then the people of Wisconsin have every right to impound and examine that computer.

Hell, they already just required those fixing computers here in Oregon to check every inch of your hard drive for child porno now. So it seems this is far more of a just reason for examining her computer than the "required" fishing expeditions that were just made in to law here in Oregon.

8. IMO it's far too late for that. If the incident was indeed premeditated
fraud, her computer will have been completely scrubbed of any incriminating evidence and re-setup to verify that everything was legitimate. Don't think that such a maneuver would be impossible. Computer experts can alter any and all aspects of digital data imprints.

I have yet to see any clear explanation of the actual paper trail underlying the data handled by Ms. Nickolaus. Nor, have I heard anything about the security of that paper documents. Who is in charge of them?
