I have two questions about Planned Parenthood and the Hyde Amendment
1. Does the Hyde Amendment only apply to federal programs like Medicaid, SCHIP and PPACA? Or does it also apply to any federal funding of organizations that provide abortions?

2. How much of Planned Parenthood's services are related to abortion? To listen to people talk about Planned Parenthood, we would think that abortion is somehow the main thing that they do? Is this true?

1. 97% nonabortion services
Don't know the answer to #1. See Ezra Klein's WP graph today for PP services.

4. It's the birth control they object to, IMHO
Because to most of the anti-choice fanatics, birth control IS a form of abortion. Besides which, not having access to birth control keeps women from getting education, etc.

6. The anti-choice crowd has never had any qualms about...
lying about anything. 3% of Planned Parenthood services relate to abortions. Their abortion services are privately funded since the Hyde amendment was passed in 76. Most of their services are about womens' health and contraceptive education and services for young people and poor women.
