2. I like the guy that's up now - never seen him before. Manchin. Seems like a good
guy.

5. I kind of understand where these pro-coal people are coming from when their
States rely on the revenue so heavily. Schweitzer (whom I love) is the same, VERY convincing about "clean coal" (an oxymoron, as we know). I wonder if they convince themselves of the stuff they're spouting.

I hate that Schweitzer is that way, but we don't have to worry about his vote. This guy, though (right after I posted my rave review) said he's Pro Life and proud of it, but the topic doesn't belong in this budget issue. I immediately thought, well, there's a vote AGAINST whatever may come down the pike regarding abortion.

Wow - 10:30! I posted elsewhere that it's as bad as watching election returns -- I'm on the edge of my seat and holding my breath. These past few years have been one roller coaster ride after another.

8. He sure doesn't like to hear "coal" and "dirty" in the same sentence.
Most of employment there is mining since they finished one of the greatest wonders of American engineering, The West Virginia Turnpike. I've driven it several times and truly is a marvel. The only thing left for jobs would be ski resorts, and "Ski WV", "Y'all come up now", and "Aspen of the Appalachians" just don't make good bumper stickers. Still, Manchin is beating the last drops of sweat out of a chronic wheezing and coughing horse before it falls over flat dead.

I do have on idea for them though. The can turn the mine shafts into amusement rides like this tunnel ride in Shanghai:

Now I'd go there for that. It'd beat getting my quarters stolen at Mountaineer Park Casino.

4. Manchin is the junior Senator from WV - replaced Byrd after a special election
he was the governor.

He is a good guy from people I know who know him well. Not very popular here because he has to run in a state owned by Massey energy and the NRA at least in terms of election money.

6. As I just told Malaise, it's understandable when it's such a huge revenue provider
for their State.
