If the "deal" includes more cuts to the environment, Dems can count me out . I will look for another
Party. Maybe the Socialist Party.
More cuts to protecting the environment = direct profits for Kochs and friends = game over.
I know the talk is all about planned parenthood but there are a ton of riders all tearing down the environment big time. I have had it.

1. Hard to blame you
Edited on Fri Apr-08-11 08:36 PM by Ken Burch
There's a limit to how much our leaders can expect from us. It's time to stop the demands for one-way loyalty.

"Think of the Court" doesn't outweigh EVERYTHING else.

Obama's not going to get to make any more appointments if the GOP holds the House anyway(and the people he could get through the Boehnerhaus couldn't be worth having).

4. Hunh? The Senate confirms presidential nominees, not the
House. Senate is still in Dem hands and will stay so at least until 2012.

Am I missing something?

6. Uh yeah...you're missing the continued existence of the filibuster
Which will be used by the GOP "minority" in the Senate to block any Obama appointees that matter, unless they're ideologically indistinguishable from the kind of people Bush, McCain or (God help us)Huckabee would appoint.

8. That's a pretty simple threat for a Senate Majority leader like Harry
Reid to face down. Any time a presidential nominee faces the threat of a filibuster over cloture, make the Repukes actually mount a filibuster. Reid as Senate Majority leader does not have to back down in the face of the threat of a filibuster. Again, though, I may be missing something here.

9. You're missing the fact that he ALWAYS backs down.
Reid never stands up to the DeMints and the Vitters. He always quietly caves to them.

7. It's the party's fault people like that poster might leave
Centrism doesn't work and can't lead us to victory in 2012-especially since "centrism" now means "nothing to the left of Nixon's first term, or maybe nothing to the left of Reagan's second term".

13. I can still be here but as another Party member. Voting time may make me vote Dem but I am
now thinking that I might like to identify myself as different from those who are in office claiming to be Dems. There are some good ones though like Franken. But overall I am seeing that they are a liars. I cannot in my heart support liars whose only goal is to placate the wealthy and their hell bent desire to get rich off of the planet at the expense of animals, people and the rest..

10. Environment = Public Health
Whether and how much pollution of toxic chemicals is allowed has a direct effect on peoples' health, the viability of fetuses and whether or not a baby is born with birth defects that could adversely affect their lives. - oops! pre-exisitng condition there.

I'm with you - slow death or fast death is the choice these two parties are offering. Useless.
