Take what you really think of the deal and set it aside for one moment.

Because the point of this thread is what the primates over on the other side think about the deal.

And for a little more fun, head over to That Other Site, and see them carrying on in ashes and sackcloth...

3. Great TRIANGULATION. Dismiss the left base and embolden the far right.
Edited on Sat Apr-09-11 10:06 AM by FormerDittoHead
SOMEHOW I don't think the Republican leadership will go around dismissing the tea party...

They didn't get their shut down, but I'm GUESSING Boehner won't say ANYTHING that dismisses the tea party or what they want.

Further the PEOPLE on the right won't go around talking about how they didn't get their pony and all the horseshit I see doled out here on a regular basis.

AS A RESULT, the far right tea party will become MORE EMBOLDENED, not having been told to "shut up and sit down"...

12. Somehow--and I don't know how--we need to change that.
The official corporate-friendly Democratic Party has to made to fear the progressives, or what USED to be their base. It's difficult when the so-called "far left" is inherently more rational and much less violent than the lunatics on the far right, but we won't get more than a few crumbs from them until they genuinely fear us.

19. Republicans slyly fuck their base. The republican base just does not
realize that they are being screwed. Who do you think cuts in SS and medicaid will hurt?

24. The Republicans have been promising to ban abortion for decades, and haven't done so.
And it's not for lack of opportunity - they had 6 years of total control of government in the Bush years to either ban abortion, or if the SCOTUS wouldn't let them, make getting an abortion so obnoxious that most people won't be able to do it.

But they didn't.

Abortion is extremely useful to the Republicans as a wedge issue, so they'll continue to promise to ban abortion, but when they get the power to actually do it, their attention will somehow drift elsewhere...

7. For me, this is just more proof that
I really need to get behind the democrats. I may not be pleased with them at all, I may even think that for the most part they're spineless corporate lackeys. Now even if that's the case... the Tea Baggers scare the hell out of me.

I'll support what little sanity we can get, we cannot allow these lunatics to take control.

9. Funny, the media and other GOPer's claim the teabaggers won
M$M is painting the GOPer's as winners and the Democrats as losers (nothing new). It is funny that the teabaggers would flip out over a little thing like health care for women.

to satisfy their base. It would have been vetoed by Obama anyway- the Reps/TP people seem to have forgotten that they only hold one part of govt.

18. Those bastards are circus clowns. But they are dead serious and must
be dealt with from that perspective. Laugh now, but be prepared to figuratively cut the head off their snake at a moment's notice.

17. "Get these people out of our party. I am Tea Party."
Uh, when did the Teabagger's form their own party? Last time I checked, the Baggers were a lunatic subset of the GOP. Rather then getting "these people" out of their party, they should form their OWN party. Let's see how far the Baggers get running their candidate against a Democrat and a Republican.

FOAES, Baggers.
