That Stossel "Freeloaders" special was pissing me off until subsidies benefiting the rich came up.
Had this on in the background for white noise, but I'm simply dumbfounded how a simple farm subsidy can let Bon Jovi and Bruce Springstein pay only hundred or two in property taxes for hundreds of acres while their neighbors pay thousands for an acre or two.

Maybe I should start raising honey bees and have an organic farmer on my property.

2. Wow, and how about that...
I'm sure it was just a coincidence that the two examples out of however many examples of this exist that he used were prominent liberals?

I'm not saying it's not something that is wrong or should be looked at. But that the two examples he gave were those......typical for that clown Stossel.

3. Stossel is a liar and an asshole.

He used subsidies for the rich to attack Springsteen and Bon Jovi. Seriously?
Did he mention corporations at all? Did hd namecheck the Koch brothers.

Maybe you SHOULD be getting subsidized for raising honeybees and farming organically.

Unrec because you had it right in the first seven words of your subject line and should have stopped there.

4. Did he forget to mention Michelle Bachman? Did he forget to mention all the members of congress who
collect this? This is set up by the rich and for the rich. Same thing with members of congress voting on thier own salary. Not just congress, but county, state too.

6. Despite special airing quite a lot, I never watched it closely enough to answer your questions.
I'm welcome to DVRing it and subjecting myself to it in full.

I do recall the oil industry being mentioned in the context of subsidies for electric cars.

7. Un-recced for using Stossel as a source. Notice how he used "progressive" wealthy people
instead of the corporations and koch brother types that are the true abusers of the subsidies.

Stossel is a bought and paid for corporate douchebag.

11. Sadistic ass
Will never forget when he interviewed women injured by toxic exposures. Some of them were very sick but he used them to ridicule and humiliate in his little show.
He has a lot of hate in his heart and most of it is for himself that he projects onto others.
Pathetic wimp.

13. John Stossel is a pathological liar.
Webster's Medical Dictionary defines a "pathological liar" as "an individual who habitually tells lies so exaggerated or bizarre that they are suggestive of mental disorder." Next to this definition should be this picture - a photo of a self-important, smarmy looking, all-too-coiffed ABC News "reporter" named John Stossel.

You may have noticed that Stossel is out hawking a book called "Myths, Lies, and Downright Stupidity" purporting to debunk those things. Instead, what we see is that Stossel is spewing them - and using his media platform as a megaphone of dishonesty. Stossel, in many ways, is exactly why I wrote my new book Hostile Takeover - to strip bare the opportunists, shills and half-wits who dominate our political debate and show them for what they really are: pathological liars.

Here's what I mean. According to the right-wing, Scaife-owned Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Stossel appeared on ABC's "The View" to talk about his book's assertion that the minimum wage supposedly hurts low-income workers. The host was surprised that someone could make such a ludicrous claim. "Why does raising the minimum wage -- this one I don't get -- actually hurt poor people?," she asked Stossel. "I don't understand that one at all."
