One of the things I like about all of the wars we are into
Is it sure provides an opportunity to increase one's knowledge of geography around the world.

1. Except for Fox News. Didn't they put Egypt where Iraq
ought to be when covering the Egyptian revolution?

2. Which is why I don't watch Fox News
Which is also why I don't even bother to get a T.V. anymore, it's all propaganda of one sort or another.

13. Fox's audience would never know the difference.....
...because for them, they're all brown countries.

20. Lol! You are so right, I doubt anyone noticed.
Fox, while it has not value as a news organization, definitely is entertaining. That sad thing is how many people take it seriously.

I love that map, thanks for posting. And did Glenn Beck really put NY up and label it Egypt? Or is that photoshopped?

3. Unrec for ignoring the sarcasm tag
That's like saying Fukushima gives an opportunity to learn more about fault lines. Books and the Internet are safer and more educational than death and destruction. Cheers. :hi:

7. Looks like it's time for another land war in Asia.
We need to learn how Cambodians, Laotians, Vietnamese, and Chinese don't "all look the same". :sarcasm:

Especially for the people that have to go there to make the war go in the first place.

burning a hole in our collective national pockets.

Are you freaking nuts? I assume you are being sarcastic (I hope) but this is no laughing matter. This is not a topic for levity. Lives are being lost.

14. Yep, that is the reality
This is what our decisions have brought us over the last several decades. Maybe it's time for a different strategy. :toast:

17. Yeah, I'm not saying this is a
good or a bad thing, to me it's just a fact.

I was going over my tweeter feeds this morning and noticed that several of the post which referenced various towns and locations that today I know where all those are located, what size the population is, where the oil production and refinement facilities are located and so on. Six weeks ago I didn't have near as much knowledge of the area. That's just a fact.

And, after I thought about it for awhile, I probably initially learned where Libya was located back when Regan strafed Momar's bedroom in 84. This is America in the modern world.

15. It's also allowed a great deal of the western hemisphere
to move left and start real reforms since when their rich people start screeching about communism, the US is preoccupied in the Middle East and can't do much but commiserate.
