3. So we like David Gregory now?
Mr. "Dances with Rove" who never asks Republicans a hard question on his show?

He's not an objective observer.

Worse yet, he has governed like one.

12. Obama has been playing this game for 2 years.
That's what the debt commission is about. Wait until the election starts up. He can and should say "I promised to go through the budget line by line, and cut some of the bloat. And I did it."

19. "He used the word 'invest' four times in four minutes"
Steve Benen:

<...>

I certainly agree with the larger argument here, though I'd quibble a bit with the particulars. The president seemed to make a point not to make spending cuts look like the actual goal, emphasizing "investing in our future," and "investments in our kids' education and student loans; in clean energy and life-saving medical research. We protected the investments we need to win the future." (He used the word "invest" four times in four minutes.) Obama even made a subtle distinction between cutting spending on the one hand, and "creating jobs and growing our economy" on the other.

<...>

So Gregory believes Republicans repeatedly advocate investment in "education," "clean energy" and "life-saving medical research."?

out from under them. But it just legitimizes the Repuke message, IMO. Better would be more leadership and less mediating. Let's hope for our country's sake that the President's strategy works.
