Exclusive: Royals pulled into phone-hacking scandal (Rupert Murdoch just died a little bit inside)
Ah, the shit around Rupert Murdoch just keeps getting deeper and deeper. Here is the big news of the day from England:

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/crime/exclusive-royals-pulled-into-phonehacking-scandal-2265869.html

The Royal Family has been pulled into the News International phone-hacking affair, dealing a blow to the latest desperate attempt by Rupert Murdoch's media giant to hide the true extent of the scandal, The Independent on Sunday can reveal. Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice are suspected targets of the media empire's hacking activities, and their father, the Duke of York, has privately expressed exasperation at the apparent breach of his family's privacy. Suspicions that the princesses were targets arose after Eugenie was the subject of an attempted mugging while travelling in Cambodia with a friend two years ago. The attack, in Phnom Penh during the girls' gap year, was thwarted by bodyguards but details of the incident quickly found their way into The Sun newspaper and other News International (NI) publications.

THE BEST PART: This is a different one of Murdoch's Newspapers. Once all of Murdoch's News outlets get pulled into it FOX won't be far behind.

2. VERY dishy! One paper just admitted to hacking and now another paper is under fire
It is VERY dishy and VERY good that Rupert Murdoch might end up having so sell of his newspapers and channels to pay the fines/fees/and court costs...they KNOW of maybe 6000 phones that were hacked by ONE employee. The real number with all the different investigators could be tens of thousands if not more if all his papers were doing it. Seriously...this could kill the Murdoch empire!

9. there have been six BIG stories break in the past few days. Did you see the
Hugh Grant Post I put up? It is a must read!!

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=439x841429

Hugh Grant tapes an ex Murdoch employee boasting about all the phone hacking and who knew about it! And also in the Indpendent today is an article about Murdoch trying to get the outgoing prime minister to squish the news hacking story.

very dirty and now all we have to do is sit back as more and more people sue and more information goes public. :0)

In the breaking news I posted this. It discusses how Murdoch's clan could be up for criminal charges. CEOs can go to jail for such things!!!!

17. I'm an American. Corporations piss on us.
The idea of any court anywhere punishing a corporation? Well, that doesn't happen here, does it?

20. No! because corporations are people too and that would hurt their feelings
and they could sue you for emotional duress...cause, you know, they are people too.

7. Hmm...
How can there be a connection from Glenn Beck to Murdoch? Wow, if it's possible.

but it would explain his meteor descendance.

12. I don't follow? Murdoch owns Faux News (and Roger Ailes)...
thus, he essentially "owned" Beck for the time he was at Faux....

14. That's how I would see it. I wonder if Murdoch owns any of the radio stations
Beck airs on or any of the book companies that sell Beck's crap. I wouldn't be surprised if Beck continued to be a Murdoch Minion of some sort or other.

19. yeah... there was another Murdoch investigator that was in court
and all those records have not been made public...but the court has ordered/is ordering them to share the information. This would be a second one of murdoch's investigators to get caught. The guy has already been proven to have hacked emails for Murdoch. So...the current 4000 known numbers is going to double or triple.

And the missing computer back up systems with all their emails was found so that might be a whole 'nother can of worms.

23. I have a suspicion that this thing is going to be huge.
I have been ranting about the incredible liberties that the right-wing faction in my area take, knowing how easy it is for them to get off if they get caught because law enforcement won't touch them. (i.e. boys will be boys). But, I will be shocked if we don't hear that people have been allowing rw hackers to come into their homes with the intent on hacking into their neighbor's homes because their neighbors don't have a track record of following their party line. Mark my words.

25. they were hacking rape victims and a murdered little girl's parents so they could get the scoop
they sunk pretty low. And not just their phones but the phones of their friends. I think they hacked the rape victim's mom...just in case she left any tearful juicy messages about her rape to her mom.

about this story. If you subscribe to a Murdoch paper you might now even know it is going on!!!!

21. Ok, I know I'm dreamin' here, but....
If the connection from murdoch can be traced to faux, then it also stands to reason that it will lead to the koch boys!
I mean the possibilities are infinite.

24. If the laws today were like they were in the "good old days"....
Murdoch would probably already be in a cell in the tower hoping against hope that her majesty would be gracious and forgiving enough to let him depart the sorrows and travails of this world by having his head removed from his shoulders in one fell swoop. Rather than putting him through that quaint Tudor ritual, specially reserved for traitors, of being hanged drawn and quartered. It's a case like this that makes me almost sorry those "good old days" had to come to an end.
