About 150 people showed up to hear John Erpenbach, one of the Wisconsin 14, speak. The guy's impressive; I could see running him for Senate or Governor in the reasonably near future.

Big news of the night was that recently-defeated State Senator Pat Kreitlow announced "an exploratory committee" preparatory to running for the 7th CD, David Obey's old turf. I have it on good authority (in the form of DUers Sybylla and Madashell) that Pat should be able to walk over the incumbent Teabagger, Sean Duffy.

Our JJ dinners usually draw about 100 people; this year it was 150. The monthly meetings are well-attended and rather intense, more like union organizing meetings than like ordinary business meetings. Many of the people there had attended Eau Claire's JJ dinner the night before, where I'm told that they had over 300 people in contrast to the usual 200.

I think this state is experiencing an outbreak of the dreaded Dem Fervor, an infection known to be fatal to Republican incumbency.
