Does anyone have an estimate of strength of religious right wackos?
I've heard that they are pleased that their numbers are over-estimated as they "scam" politicians about their voting strength. But what percentage of GOP are "Religious Roght", saying that morality issues are more important that having strong social safety nets or a strong economy?

I have a friend that thinks they are a relatively small group with little political strength.

1. Their poltical strength is greater than their numbers because they are vocal and they vote.
Politicians tend to not pay as much attention to people they know do not bother to vote in every election.

5. That and lip service....
For example Raygun never really advanced their agenda, so in the end they get duped in so many ways. Ofcourse all the poor suffer regardless.

8. A good number are military types who are in good shape, but most
are overweight wimps who'd have a hard time pressing 100 lbs.

11. 40% of people in the US believe in young earth creationism
I would imagine that's a pretty good proxy for religious wackoism, and I suspect few YECers are all that liberal.
