The Commander in Chief can unilaterally solve the debt problem

If the Republicans are not willing to raise the debt limit then the Commander in Chief should call the troops home and dismiss them from service. The savings would be in the Trillions of dollars and it would be immediate. If the Commander in Chief can take us to war without approval by the Congress then he can certainly end two or three without their consent.

their families (bringing home the troops should include closing the hundreds of military sites around the globe) among the downsized bases around the US. Immediate influx of dollars in those local economies, and saves a pantload of money in lease payments to those host countries.

Reduce the total size of the military via normal attrition as enlistments expire and reduced recruiting efforts.

Though one could argue that termination of wars falls outside its scope.
