Tea Party statement calls Boner--John 'white flag of surrender' Boner
Just saw this on cnn.
It seems that the far right is just as bummed about their leader as the progressive left, and so many of us on DU.
I will be voting for Pres. Obama again.
While disappointed, I remember the coming Supreme Court appointments. I believe that when Obama and his team began to prepare for his run in 2008, they planned to have two terms to accomplish things. When Obama is re-elected, he won't have to face running again, and hopefully will be much more forceful.
There is no better candidate, and not voting in protest would only help the repubs.

2. Just hope he gets the congressional support as well ...
panader ... think you're right, but we better hope he gets some congressional help, otherwise, he'll be DIW 2 years into his second term.

3. Our side is mad because we lost a lot of ground on issues that help Americans
Their side is mad because we weren't all forced into gas chambers.

Big difference.

5. Teabag/Freepers believe passionately that their issues help Americans
They are mad that Boehner did not get 100% of the cuts they wanted.

6. And schizophrenics passionately belive that the moon is about to be eaten by a dragon
Just because they are passionate about their side doesn't mean that their side has any basis in reality.

8. Agreed. But the problem is they believe this so strongly

and they are in control of the House. They can't or won't listen to reason.

This is what we have to contend with.

To me it seems that our most important goal should be:

-- taking back the House.
-- getting a rock solid Dem Majority in the Senate.

The last house put out some great legislation which got fucked up by Republicans and a couple three bluedogs

9. Right. And that's why you have to let them shoot themselves in the foot
There's people arguing on DU that we didn't have a choice. We did:let them shut everything down like they say they intend, and watch them destroy themselves. Instead, we folded. Had we called their bluff, we'd have a better shot at taking back the House and gaining seats in the Senate.

12. For one thing, they did call their bluff on all thier batshit in sane riders
- no dismantling of the EPA or declaring climate change is a "myth'
- no elimination of all Title X money
- no defunding of HCR or repeal of "Obamacare"

The list went on and on and on.

4. I'm not fooled.
If some elements of the Tea Party are upset with Boehner for not getting 100 percent of what they wanted last week, the 'Weeper of the House' will have another bite at the apple next month.

When the Repuglicans get the rest of what they want (or get what they want on a new set of demands) over the debt ceiling negotiations, all this little dust-up will be forgotten.

7. Boehner is unlikely to survive the Debt Ceiling or Budget Debate
Edited on Mon Apr-11-11 09:23 AM by emulatorloo
In January Boehner was talking about how they needed to educate the Teabagger Reps on the consequences of not raising the Debt Ceiling.

Now he is "claiming" that there is no daylight between him and the teabag reps. LOL.

Honestly I think Boehner SCARED of losing his job. As speaker. and he is afraid he is going to be Teabagged in a primary.

Much of what we saw - the delay in the deal, etc etc was all about Boehner's fear of hanging on to his job.

10. because the Teabaggers know that they lost the Budget battle.
It's a shame some of the "progressives" here are incapable of comprehending what even a Teabagger can understand.

11. Does the "liberally-biased media" ever realize their impossible statements?
Obama is catering/kowtowing to his far-left fanatical liberal base

and, at the same time ...

Obama is disenchanting/alienating his far-left fanatical liberal base
