All ye need know about Paul Ryan's GOP House budget plan, in two sentences
Edited on Mon Apr-11-11 11:03 AM by Snoutport
"It includes a plan to privatize and defund Medicare that would leave many if not most seniors unable to afford health care. And it includes a plan to sharply cut taxes on corporations and to bring the tax rate on high earners down to its lowest level since 1931."

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2. His "plan" is an absolute
non-starter. If I read the synopsis properly even if all the wildly idiotic assumptions it makes came about on time and perfectly in line this plan would still increase the deficit for at least the next 12 to 20 years. If for any reason, the unemployment rate went higher than predicted 3.8% all bets would be off.

4. I can characterize it in one word! BS!!!!
As someone who's 53, I find it personally directed at absolutely SCREWING people of my age that have spent most of their lives contributing to the existing system and a F'ER like him STEALING it from me!

7. And they will threaten to put the US in default unless they get 100%
of what they want.

Poor babies will probably have to settle for 85% of what they want.

I really think it's past time to call their bluff. they big money guys will NEVER let the US default because it would crash the WORLD economy and leave them no nesting place.

8. Has Obama capitulated to it yet?
I expect it won't be much longer until Republicans get every single thing they desire...I suspect if it were a republican that happened to be President at this time saying and doing exactly what Obama is, most Democrats would not go along so easily..In fact I would venture most Democrats would actually oppose him..

9. So this plan has been tried and failed in other countries.
So why do we always have dumb, idealists, like Paul Ryan, who try to push through failed agendas? Because they are beholden to their money backers. But why would we put people like him in power with their failed policies? It's really the fault of the voter for not turning up to the polls and keeping these jerks and their toxic policies out of office. When they get hit over the head with the loss of programs they depend on, then they go join a Tea Party. Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!

12. It is insanity to even describe this as a plan
The mere introduction of same would remove any existing barrier
between the congress and the pitchforks. This bullying has to
stop now and no senator or representative who proposes this
legislation should be able to rest one minute back in their
respective states or districts. The idea one can improve any
budget without looking at both sides of the ledger is insane.
But it seems that is exactly the situation within the Republican
caucuses in the House and Senate. Time for a little bit of sanity
or a whole lot of pitchforks.

15. I have a courageous plan!
End the wars and bring our troops home and put those soldiers on our borders to help Border Control.

End tax cuts and loopholes for the wealthy and big corporations.

Add an extra War Tax to the wealthy and big corporations until the cost of the wars are paid for.

Add an Outsourced Jobs Tax to any American company who sent jobs to other countries to help pay for unemployment benefits.

Of course this will never happen since the wealthy and big corporations are really the ones in charge in this country.
